FAQs about ketamine therapy in Fort Lauderdale

  • Overall, ketamine works much more quickly than traditional mental health treatments. Some people experience relief from a single ketamine treatment.

At the same time, any kind of therapy is a highly personalized process. You may benefit from more sessions to support your ongoing recovery. Our clinicians will work closely with you to determine how many sessions are needed for your particular situation.

  • While ketamine treatment is generally viewed to be safe and effective, it might not be the right fit for everyone. We recommend consulting with a healthcare professional before starting ketamine treatment if you have any of the following:

    • High blood pressure

    • Pregnancy or breastfeeding

    • History of psychotic symptoms

    • History of substance abuse related to psychedelics

In some of these cases, EMDR therapy may be a better fit for you.

  • Though ketamine is most often used as a treatment for severe depression and post-traumatic stress disorder, emerging research suggests that it may be a helpful treatment for other various mental health conditions.

While more research is needed, this systematic review found evidence supporting the use of ketamine for bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and substance use disorders.

We've seen firsthand how effective ketamine can be when used in a therapeutic setting. To learn more about how it may be able to help your unique situation, we invite you to reach out.
